The National Danish-American Genealogical Society (NDAGS) was founded in 1982.
We are a branch of the Minnesota Genealogical Society and are closely affiliated with the Danish-American Cultural Center of the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota.

MeetingsThe National Danish American Genealogical Society typically meets every 4th Monday of the month, except for the months of August and December. We often hold our January meeting at another site so please check the monthly meeting details below.

Meeting time is 7:00 p.m. Central Time unless noted below.
Some past meeting programs have covered Danish immigration and history; reading old gothic script; use of Danish genealogy websites; organization of genealogy materials; military records; Denmark and the Napoleonic Wars; finding family in historical newspapers online; researching the Slesvig-Holstein region of Denmark; use of scanners and other technology; researching and writing creative family histories; Danish cookbooks; railroad records and history; court records; using maps and land records; crossing the Atlantic; and planning a trip to Denmark.
Members have the opportunity to share their discoveries, discuss problems, and ask for input from the group in their quest to find Danish ancestors.

Tour of the new Minneapolis Genealogical Society Library
Explore the new location and genealogical resources at the new MGS facility. Take a guided tour of the library, stop by the NDAGS booth, visit affiliate group booths for information, and much more. Even if your ancestors did not live in Minnesota, there are many resources you will enjoy. (PLEASE NOTE: This is a Saturday off-site event. Introduction to Danish Genealogy
Do you want to research your Danish ancestors but donít know where to start? Have you started but hit a road block? Or are you an experienced researcher looking for new leads? NDAGS Officers Bill Holmquist, Myra Madsen, and Heather Mullen will provide guided instructions on hoe to begin and sustain your Danish genealogical research skills. The library at the Danish American Center has a multitude of Danish genealogy resources. It's open the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of each month from 10am to 12pm and Wednesdays from 10am to 3pm.
MembershipAnyone with an interest in Danish genealogy is welcome to join the National Danish American Genealogical Society. NDAGS membership dues are $20 per person and $25 per family (living at same address) each calendar year.
Even if you canít attend meetings, you will receive an electronic copy of each monthís speakerís notes and our quarterly e-newsletter. Of course, you are always free to submit questions and provide feedback!
